The field of artificial intelligence is drawing more and more intrigued students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. As the field continues to grow, it is expected to increase even more in popularity. According to the World Economic Forum, AI will create 97 million new job roles by 2025. The supply of skilled, trained, educated workers is far below the demand for them as of 2023, which is one reason to explore the various types of educational degree programs that are currently available in artificial education.
Associate Degree Programs in Artificial Intelligence
You might not initially think of associate degree programs when you think of artificial intelligence degree programs, but a few of them do exist. Associate degree programs can be a good way to enter the field of artificial intelligence and make sure that it is right for you, before continuing with a bachelor’s degree program. With the great need for trained and educated professionals in AI, having an AI associate degree can be crucial to helping you to land an entry-level job in the field. Contact AI Program Director Trevor Presgrave for more information at [email protected].
Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Artificial Intelligence
Bachelor’s degrees in artificial intelligence are also very useful to students wishing to enter the AI workforce. While they number fewer than the graduate degrees in AI that are currently available, they are growing in popularity as more and more educated professionals are needed to fill the gaps in the AI workforce. Some examples of bachelor’s degrees in AI include:
Bachelor of Science in Machine Learning and Autonomous Systems – Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS
Kansas State offers this online bachelor’s program in machine learning and autonomous systems that consists of 120 credit hours. Students may choose from two degree tracks – web development or computational core. Either way, students will gain an advanced, hands-on and in-depth learning experience focused on AI’s foundations and the design, development, and usage of ML in autonomous systems. More information is available by contacting (785) 532-5575 or [email protected].
Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence – University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL
University of Miami’s BS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence includes foundational computer science courses, courses in AI techniques, and courses in AI applications. Computer science, mathematics, and ethics are all covered in this program. Contact Odelia Schwartz, Director of Undergraduate Studies for Computer Science, at (305) 284-2268 or [email protected] for more information.
Undergraduate Certificates in Artificial Intelligence
We have covered graduate certificates in another section of this site, but what about undergraduate certificates? These types of certificates may be added to a bachelor’s degree or earned as stand-alone certificates, and can be highly beneficial to those entering the AI workforce. A few examples of undergraduate certificates in AI include:
Undergraduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence – Wilmington University, New Castle, DE
This undergraduate AI certificate teaches students AI-specific knowledge necessary to advance in their careers or to explore the field. The six-course, 18-credit certificate is available in online or on-campus formats and can be earned simultaneously with other certificates. Courses include Ethics for AI and Data Analytics, Computer Vision and Image Analysis, Python for Data Science, Integrating Excel into Business Problem Solving, Machine Learning Principles, and Intro to Artificial Intelligence. Contact Wilmington University’s Enrollment Counselors at (877) 967-5464 for more information.
Undergraduate Certificate in AI Fundamentals and Applications – University of Florida, Gainesville, FL
Undergraduates of any major, whether technical or non-technical, may apply to UF’s AI certificate program. Students will learn about the basics of AI, how it can be applied to real-life problems, and the ethical responsibilities of its usage. The program consists of 9 credits.
